The future of media.... what will it hold?

With the current rate of technology and media constantly being upgraded and changing, it leaves us with the question of what will happen next? what is the future of social media?

Well, if it continues to progress as it has been, then it will become an even bigger part of our lives and what we do. Media has become so much a part of us that none of us could probably live without it. Could you go a week or even a day without your phone, internet, TV and every other source of technology and media ever created? Probably not. I know I couldn't. I'm using media right now, and I'm just waiting to finish this blog before I go and use my phone which I carry everywhere with me. I feel lost without it. As if part of me is missing. This never used to be normal but in today's society, it has become the normal thing to happen. We won't go anywhere without our technology, just in case something happens that we have to tell others about or that we get told about. And frankly, I don't blame people. I don't want to be kept out of the loop. I want to know what is happening and if anything interesting is going on. And others feel the same way too.

The future of media...... Well in some parts I already know that the future of it has come together to an extent. A few years ago, I would wake up and either have to listen to the radio or look out the window to find out the weather, and then listen to the radio or TV for the news. But now, all I have to do is log into Facebook.

People will post if its raining or if its really hot so I don't have to think about the weather. And if anything interesting is going on, people will post about it or ask a question about it. That's how I found out about a friend being pregnant, another in a car crash the night before, if my nephews are behaving or anything else interesting that is going on. I don't have to talk to people directly any more either. Gone are the days of ringing someone or seeing them in person. Just chat to them and instant message, or Skype them. Who needs real world interactions when you have technology to tell you what is happening and what to do?

So while you have a look at these clips, have a think about this. How much do we actually rely on social media and technology, and where will it take us in the future?
